The Greater Wishlist
I've cut down my wishlist solely to the subjects that I have loved for a long time, so this won't take long. Sorted according to category, but ♥♥♥ are my Top 3.

♥♥♥ There's probably something wrong with people in love with fictional characters since 1999, but I wouldn't know, because Gravitation's Yuki Eiri is more real to me than some people I know. I worship the ground he trails his cigarettes on. Not only do we share similar traits (a love for writing, and an absolute disregard for everything else), but I understand and have experienced the sense of alienation he does as people trying to live in a place where everyone expects you to be something you're not. My first and biggest shrine has been devoted to him for the past seven years, and show no signs of waning.

♥♥♥ Shirota Yuu is half-Spanish, and half-god Japanese. I am not normally one to fangirl over idols, but Yuu won me over ever since his performance as Tuxedo Mask at Seramyu - and his cute, dorky reaction when he graduated from that role. I love him for being such a versatile actor, taking on many mature roles from Anthony Hope in the Japanese Sweeney Todd musical, to a biker in Arakure Knights, to a gangster in Heat Island, to an arrogant rival in Hanakimi, and even his sexy adult role in Jun Bride and Zoku Jun Bride. (I watch most j-dramas just because he's in them.) Currently, his portrayal of a psychopathic death row inmate on Koshonin: the Negotiator is blowing me away. Let's not forget that he's an amazing singer, composing his own music, and with a soulful, breathtaking voice. But what I love most is that he's such a down-to-earth dork who will clown around at every opportunity despite his serious roles. And he's my depiction of what my dream guy would look like, so there's that, too.

♥♥♥ Reading and Books are my way of life, and I cannot define who I am if I cannot define how they are important to me. I started reading when I was three, and became a voracious reader shortly after. I would rather curl up in bed and read a book more than I would like to do anything else, and I have been known to closet myself in my room for days after bringing home my usual stack of purchased books, venturing out only for food and personal hygiene. I love the feeling of transporting yourself to distant worlds of other people's imaginations, because I've always believed they're the little portals that eventually help you find your own world. Books open your mind to things you may not have known of, or concepts that you may not have entertained. From romance books to sci-fi and adventure, from classics to periodical references and personal biographies to even the modern textbook; I love eclectic reading from all genres, and my growing unofficial library is proof of that.

Conan O'Brien has been my secret babysitter ever since I was eleven years old. I would stay up late into the night (a perk growing up was having my own television in my room) and Late Night was my bedtime story before going to sleep. Fourteen years later, and I still never feel complete if Conan's face isn't the last thing I see before going to bed. I stuck by him during his awful early years, because despite the poor budget and secondhand jokes, his personality was more real to me than other more successful comedians competing for audience attention then. From In the Year 2000 to his "NBC gives us horrible budgets, and I'm really so poor" skits to Triumph to the masturbating bear (and more recently, the horny manatee) to my personal favorite, the "Conan hates my Homeland" gag, Conan has made me laugh through my own instances of ineptitude. My sense of self-deprecating humor and penchant for double entendres, and therefore a large part of my personality, was heavily influenced by him.

Numerous writers have taught me to love to read; Neil Gaiman taught me how to love to write. I had the pleasure of interviewing him once before, and what I learned - and unlearned - from him in such a short time was unbelievable, and it still is one of the best days of my life. The way he writes and give realistic credibility to his characters, from the brooding Dream to the distant Shadow to the unfortunate evil stepmother, is something I hope to define myself in the future. I hope to one day follow in his footsteps, or better yet, forge my own and walk alongside his.

Fitzwilliam Darcy of Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is the man that I compare all other guys to. We live in an era full of trying-hards and pectoral muscles and pretty faces, that we sometimes forget that we never know what we really want, and that what we really want is the sensible gentleman more than the rockstar. Mr. Darcy is the epitome of how so underrated the gentle soul usually is, how first impressions should never be fact; and helps us reassess the guys we know are really worth coming home to.

I know that FFXIII has yet to hit, but I can't help it; I've watched the FFXIII trailers over and over again, and I am falling in love with both the game and Lightning. The thought of an Advent Children-esque battle system has just about the same effect as chocolate, and I love the way Lightning looks. I love her clothes, I love the way she wields her sword-gun, and I love the personality that Square has been hinting at. Finally, a strong, tomboyish girl who for once won't hesitate to fight on her own terms!
